Live-In Domestic Helper

A full-time live-in helper is one of the most practical investments a Singapore family can make. We make sure the person we place is matched to how your household actually runs, not just ticking boxes on a biodata form.

What's included

What a live-in helper covers

Most live-in helpers handle the full range of household tasks, adjusted to what your family actually needs. You set the priorities; they adapt to your home.

  • Housekeeping: daily cleaning, laundry, ironing
  • Cooking: meals suited to your family's tastes and diet
  • Grocery runs and home errands
  • Childcare and school run support
  • Elderly companion care and ADL assistance
  • Pet care where needed

The AJS difference

Most agencies send you a stack of biodata and let you figure it out. We don't. We ask about your schedule, your household dynamic, whether you have young children or elderly parents, your cooking preferences, your working hours, and then we shortlist.

The result is a shortlist of 3โ€“5 candidates who actually fit your home, not 30 profiles that are technically available.

How it works

From first call to first day

01

Tell us about your home

You speak with our consultant about your household size, schedule, cooking preferences, and any specific needs: young children, elderly parents, dietary requirements.

02

We shortlist 3โ€“5 profiles

We go through our pool and select candidates who match your household specifically, not just whoever is available. You review biodata and we walk you through each one.

03

Interview and decide

We coordinate interviews, help you prepare questions, and guide you on what to look for. You pick the right fit, no pressure.

04

We handle the paperwork

Work permit, MOM application, medical check, SIP enrolment, insurance, transport: everything is managed end to end.

05

Arrival and settling in

We brief your new helper on your household rules before arrival. We stay available for questions in the first few weeks.

Common Questions

Live-in helper FAQ

How long does the whole process take from enquiry to first day?
For a fresh hire from Indonesia or Myanmar, typically 4โ€“8 weeks, including MOM permit approval, medical check, Settling-In Programme, and travel. Transfer helpers already in Singapore can start in as little as 1โ€“2 weeks.
What's the difference between Indonesian, Filipino, and Myanmar helpers?
Each nationality has different strengths. Filipino helpers generally have stronger English. Indonesian helpers are often preferred for Muslim households. Myanmar helpers are sometimes preferred for eldercare due to temperament. We'll recommend based on your specific household, not just availability.
Do we need to provide accommodation?
Yes, MOM requires employers to provide suitable accommodation, ideally a private room. If space is limited, we can advise on what counts as acceptable under MOM guidelines before you commit.
Can the helper cook our cuisine?
We ask about this specifically during shortlisting. Many helpers cook well but every family's tastes are different. We recommend doing a simple cooking test in the first week and being patient with the adjustment period.
What if it doesn't work out within the first few months?
Our 12-month replacement guarantee covers this: if the placement doesn't work out for any genuine reason within 12 months, we find a replacement at no additional agency fee.
